leaves are the food factories of the plant and the the roots absorb water and minerals from the soil and transport it by the xylem vesels to the leaves and the stomata present in leaves take in carbon dioxide from air. Then in the presense of chlorophyll sunlight carbon dioxide and water and minerals the leaves convert the solar energy into chemical energy and synthesis food and then the carbohydrates or simple glucose is transported to all the different parts of the plant with the help of phloem vessels.
