The eye works like a regular photo camera, basically a so-called dark room with a small input hole = camera obscura
But it is complemented with light control 1.0-32 (iris) and autofocus (eye lens + ciliary muscles)
The image which is up and down is projected on the so-called yellow spot that serves as a light sensor that is similar to today's camera sensors, but has an extremely high resolution of 576 MP. The signals are forwarded via the optic nerves to the visual cortex of the brain, where the signals are decoded, and interpreted and transmitted to other parts of the brain.
