Explain the formation of planet ?

the planets were formed by the big bang and the some during the late heavy bombardment
due to force of gravity the huge masses clumped to each other and started to orbit around parent body or the sun of that system

The various planets are thought to have formed from the solar nebula, the disc- shaped cloud of gas and dust left over from the Sun's formation. The currently excepted method by which the planets formed is accretion, in which the planets began as dust grains in orbit around the central protostar.
