it inhibits abscission of young leaves , young fruits , young flowers , and also it promotes abscission in older leaves , older fruits and  older flowers

it promotes  apical dominance and inhibit  growth of lateral buds

it is responsible for initiation and promotion of cell division in cambium and it controls xylem differentiation
