This thing differentiates switches from hubs. Hub gets the information and forwards that to every other device in the network

We say the switch can't do more than just turning on and off different applications but here we are incorrect.
Modern day switches are used for turning on and off different appliances but also they are used to prevent short circuits and to save appliances from direct current (not DC it's just direct current reaching to the appliance/s).
