Answer:

Functioning of neuron

Neurons, also known as nerve cells, send and receive signals from your brain. While neurons have a lot in common with other types of cells, they're structurally and functionally unique. Specialized projections called axons allow neurons to transmit electrical and chemical signals to other cells.

Answer:

- Neurons are nerve cells which are the functional units of the nervous system. The three main parts of a neuron are dendrite, cell body and axon.

Functioning of its three parts:

  • Dendrite: It detect information and conducts the messages towards the cell body.
  • Cell body: It contains nucleus, mitochondria, and other cell organelles. It maintains the growth of the cell.
  • Axon: It conducts messages away from the cell body and pass to the next neuron.

- The neurons show high irritability and transfer stimuli along them.

- It enables animals to move in accordance with the stimuli from outside and this is a fundamental feature of most animals Basically, they transfer impulses all throughout the brain which help control our movement.

Hope it helps you ^_^
