State legislature is the central authority of the state, it is the law making body of respective state.

Explanation:

State legislature consists the Vidhan Sabha or legislative assembly and Vidhan parishad or legislative council. State legislature is not uniform in the number, it varies between the states. Law making is the primary objective of state legislature, budget allocation and discussing about the various matters which are their routine work in the legislature. Legislative assembly members are directly elected by the people and legislative council members are indirectly elected.
