Coins are one of the most importantsources of information from which archaeologists and historians can try to interpret the past. This is partly because, unlike most other ancient artefacts, they are often stamped with words and images. It is also because they are hard-wearing and survive in large numbers.

Hope it helps!

Coins are an important literary sources that have very little or no chances of manipulating.

This particularly enhances the authenticity of the archaeological sources.

Each coin depicts the era and ruler of the period that help the historians to know about the particular kingdom and the ruler as well.
