every orbit in a subshell is singly occupied with one electron before any one orbit is doubly occupied and all electrons in singly occupied orbitals have the same spin.

Hund's rule says that no electron pairing will take place in the orbitals in a subshell until each orbital is occupied by one electron with parallel spin.
