hey buddy,

ethene is a alkene it means that its central carbon atom will have one pie bond and three sigma bond,
thus it will have sp² hybridisation.

The Lewis structure of ethene: The carbon atoms are sp2 hybridisation. two sp2 hybrids bonds with the hydrogen atoms and the other forms of sigma bond with the other carbon atom. the p-orbitals are unused for carbon atoms in the hybridisation overlap to form the C=C.
