Given Equation is sin72.

It can be written as sin(90 - 18) = cos 18.

Cos 18 can be written as cos (36/2).

using the half-angle identity:

cos( \frac{x}{2}) =  \sqrt{ \frac{1 + cos(x)}{2} }

                                 =  \sqrt{ \frac{1 + cos(36)}{2} }

                                 = \sqrt{ \frac{1 +  \frac{ \sqrt{5 + 1} }{4} }{2} }

                                 =  \sqrt{ \frac{5 +  \sqrt{5} }{8} }

                                =  \frac{ \sqrt{5 +  \sqrt{5} } }{2 \sqrt{2} }

                               =  \frac{ \sqrt{2}  \sqrt{5+  \sqrt{5} } }{4}

                               =  \frac{ \sqrt{10 + 2 \sqrt{5} } }{4}

Hope this helps!
