I learned this as GARGLE so
G : Germany was blamed for world woar 1 (diktat).
A : (guilt Arms restriction)100,000 sldiers, 6 battleships, no airforce, conscription ban and demiliterized Rhineland.
R :  Reparations, Gemany had to ppay 6.6 billion pounds by 1984 which was later decreased due to the Young's Plan to 2 billion pounds.
G : German territories : Alsace lorraine to France, West Prussia to Poland, East Prussia was on its own. 13% of Germany's land was taen away. Overseas colonies were given to the victors.
LE : league of nations was set up.

the german citizens were horrified and outrages beacuse they hated that they were blamed for the war.
they felt betrayed/backstabbed that their government signed the treaty of versailles so the called them the the november criminals.
they were angry for the diktat and disarmament.
the economy was crippled due to reparations which led to starvation.
