The great lakes are considered to be world's fresh water lake because as it contains 21% of fresh water and some of the major lakes in north America are the as follows:
1)LAKE TITICACA ( CONSIDERED AS WORLDS SECOND AND FRESH WATER LAKE IN N.A.)

2)LAKE MISSISSIPPI

3) LAKE SUPERIOR ( WORLDS SECOND FRESH WATER LAKE BY ITS AREA)

4)LAKE BAILKAL(WORLDS LARGEST LAKE BY ITS SURFACE)

So, it plays an important role in the survival of humans and animals as well as by these fresh water lakes these waters are being used by farmers for the growth of crops and these fresh water comes from the replineshes of rain and snowfall. Yet it also helps to get used in industrial ways and in irrigation these are very nice and fresh water lakes used by humans and animals in many many ways
