If India doesn’t have Himalayas, the country would probably experience two type of climate. The temperate climate in the north and tropical climate in the south.
Most of monsoon winds are created from the Indian ocean are capable of moving north and the Himalayan mountains are capable of blocking the cold winds from moving apart from the country,
Apart from the trade winds India’s climate is majorly influenced by Himalayas and the Indian Ocean.

Explanation:
The Himalayas and the Indian Ocean play a great role in 'influencing' the climate of India.
- The Indian Ocean along with the 'Arabian Sea' and the 'Bay of Bengal', these water bodies provide the monsoon winds with its characteristic moisture.
- As the 'South West monsoon' winds blow over the 'Indian Ocean', they pick up moisture and bring rains to the Indian subcontinent. These winds carry the 'rain-bearing clouds', which moves towards Northern India, where the Himalayas cause these rain-bearing clouds to shed its moisture as rain in India.
