The ionosphere is the part of the atmosphere that is ionized by solar radiation. It plays an important part in atmospheric electricity and forms the inner edge of the magnetosphere. It has practical importance because, among other functions, it influences radio propagation to distant places on the Earth

Answer:

Ionosphere is important layer for radio wave communication.

Explanation:

There are many layers in atmosphere like Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, Thermosphere and Ionosphere. Ionosphere is present above the mesosphere layer, it is in 85 km above the sea level. It is used for satellite radio wave communication. There are different layers in Ionosphere such as D layer, E layer, F1 layer and F2 layer. Radio wave communication depends on the electron density of the layer, there is no hindrance in this layer so satellites are placed in this layer.
