A : There are many advantages in Road ways than the other ways of transport. Some of them are :

>> Road transport connects the villages. 

>> Road ways have safety as anyproblem occurs we can solve easily but in other transport it leads a big destruction. 

>> Laying roads are cheaper than the railways. 

>> we can travel by connecting the villages as we get a chance to see some views. 


♣ Disadvantages of Road ways ♣ 

A: Along with advantages there are disadvantages of Roadways. They are :

>> Roadways causes noise pollution and air pollution to the road side areas. 

>> Roadsways causes traffic jams. 

>> Roadways are dangerous in hilly areas. 

>> Roadways causes accidents. 

>> Roadways are not suitable in rainy season. 


♣ Importance of National Highways. ♣

A : National highways are the roads laid with high facilities. This road will be like a mirror without any damage. This is pucca road. 
Importance of National Highways are :

>> These National highways Connect the important cities, towns. 

>> These Highways are laid through rural areas which help the rural people. 

>> Natioanal highways are laid because they maintain the vehicles to move in constant speed. 

>> National highways reduces traffic with their width.

A : Central public works development ( CPWD ) is an authority of government which ensures the development of the urban areas. This authority serve in laying roads, building government buildings etc. This authority examines the public sector works.

A : The roads in India are very much connected in different parts of India. Indian roads are laid as :

National Highways : These roads are laid by the central government to connect the large cities. The investment of roads are by cental.

State Highways : These roads are laid by the state government which connects the districts in the state. The investment is done by the state government. 

District roads : These roads are laid to connect the villages in total distrct this comes under the state government. 

Village roads : This roads are laid to connect the small villages and nearby towns. This roads are mainly cement roads.

There are 4 types in indian roadways.

1. National highway
2. district Highway
3. Taluka highway
4. village highway

=> National Highways join the states and big cities. National Highways are very important in state works.

☣ District Highway
=> District Highway join the districts and cities. this Highways are used in transportation from one district to another district.

☣ Taluka roads
=> some urban and dular people or people who live in villages they transport by this roads.

=> This are very important for less distance transportation.

=> we can travel the distance by the roads easily.

=> There are chances of accidents in case of motor transport

▶ Inappropriate for long distance
=> when we select the motor vehicles then we can't travel more distance by using roadways. That is why this is inappropriate.

▶ low speed
=> when we travel by the motors then the speed of the motors are not very high there speed is very less.

▶ Dependent on nature
=> All the roadways are dependent on the nature like when there is high rainfall then there is a worst condition in the roadways.

▶ Heavy material
=> Heavy materials cannot be transported easily with the help of motors.

▶ Not apropirate in hilly regions
=> if we travel by roads in hilly regions then it is not suitable.

Firstly Full form of CPWD is Central Public Works Department.

CPWD
=> This is the department which works for the public sectors. it works under the urban development ministry. This department was founded by James Broun-Ramsay. CPWD came into existence in July 1854.
