The indus rises in Tibet, near lake mansarowar . flowing west, it enters india in the ladakh district of jammu and kashmir. it forms a picturesque gorge in this part

It originates in northern slopes of Tibet.

Total length 3187 kms making it one of Asia longest river

It runs from the the region of Ladakh of Jammu Kashmir (India Region) to the Gilgit-Ballistan of Pakistan which makes it the longest river in Pakistan.

It is locally known as Sindhu river.
