Explain the Ion-Exchange method of purification of hard water.

NaZe+ hard water gives CaZe that is calcium ions are replaced by sodium ions

In ion Exchange method a complex salt you may call it purmutit is used i.e (Na2 Al2 Si2 O8.xh20) it is loosly packed in a big tank over a layer of sand then water is introduced in the tank now the impurities present in water Such as Cations of Mg and other are replaced by Sodium and This is the ion exchange method
