1) The president os nor answerable before any court of law for the exercise of the powers and duties in his office.

2) No criminal suiy can be initiated against him during his tenure of office.

3) The president has the power to grant pardons, reprieves, respites and remmisions of punishment or to suspend, remit or commute the sentence of any person convicted for an offence

a) in all cases where the punishment or sentence is by a court Martial;

b) in all cases where the punishment or sentence is for an offence against any law relating to union amd concurrent lists;

c) in all cases where there is a death sentence.
