The GI tract is composed of four layers.Each layers has different tissues and funtion,From the inside out they are called MUCOSA,SUBMUCOSA,MUSCULAIS and SEROSA.The mucosa is the innermost layer and acts as a absorption an secretion.

The mucosa surround,s the lumen of GI tract and consist of an Eptithelial cell layer supported by the thin layer of connective tissue known as the lamina propria.
