Explain the main features of the national rural employment guarantee act,2005

1. This act was passed in September 2005.

2.This act is now named as Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.

3.This act provides 100 days assured employment every year to every rural household in 200 districts . Layer,the scheme will be extended to 600 districts.

4.One-third of proposed jobs would be reserved for women.

5.The central government will establish National Employment Guarantee Fund. The state governments will also establish State Employment Guarantee Funds for implementation of scheme.
