the major arguments against democracy r
leaders keep changing in a democracy. this leads to instability.
democracy is all about political competition and power play. there is no scope for morality.
so many people have to be consulted in a democracy that it lead to delays.
elected leaders do not know the best interest of the people. it leads to bad decision.
democracy leads to corruption for it is based on electoral composition.
ordinary people do not know what is good for them they should not decide anything.

The main one is that democracy may lead to mob rule or an illiterate and ignorant constituency electing a ruler based on arbitrary things due to a lack of understanding of the system. That’s why the founders included the electoral college in American elections: general distrust of the lower class and public gentry by traditionally aristocratic leaders like Jefferson and Washington......
