A meditative and restful condition of mind is called a  deep dream of peace' that Abou Ben Adhem felt by himself.

Here 'dream' is equivalent and meaning of sleep.

Abou woke  up out of his peaceful and deep sleep.

He had peace of mind as he was in love with fellow persons who accompanied him.

Thus he had a life which was filled with happiness.

Moreover, he was very innocent man with little demand.
