The meaning of "digital exclusion" is related to the economic, social and cultural consequences of inequality in terms of access to computers (as well as electronic devices) and the internet.
What does that mean? Imagine that your roommates do not have internet access and can not ask your questions and clarify questions here. Their parents do not know how to respond and they are embarrassed to ask in the classroom. They may end up learning less than those who have access to those resources.
In addition, there are many companies that only accept job candidates who send the resume by email or register on the institution page. That is, only people with money to make in a lan house or who have access to computers and the internet in some way will get those jobs. The poorest will be left out, so that the cycle of poverty and exclusion (leaving someone out of the opportunities) continues. Many public schools do not have computer rooms, as well as few children and teenagers can buy a cell phone with internet (smartphone) or even if they do not have money to put the internet.
Finally, digital exclusion has considerable negative impacts on the opportunities for study, work, internship, dating, social relations, among countless other aspects of people's lives.
Unfortunately, India presents a huge problem of social inclusion, given that in many places there is no internet as well as signal failure a lot, as well as computers and other devices that access the world wide computer network are expensive. Finally, we are far behind in social inclusion when compared to other countries, which means that a significant part of the Indian population does not have access to the internet.
Intelligent solutions are needed to reduce this problem, given that in addition to digital illiterates (who do not know how to use a computer or access the internet) we have a large number of people who do not even know how to read. I hope that when you grow up you can help improve this situation.
