Anglo-Saxon America is made up of Canada and the United States, in North America; In Central America by Belize, Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Lucia; In South America only Guyana.
You see, most of these countries are poor and underdeveloped, removing that idea that if Brazil had been colonized by the British our nation would be much better off.
Responding to your question: most of these countries were colonized by England, which is why English is the official language in all of them.
That is not to say, that only Englishmen were to colonize these territories. Canada, for example, was a French colony, which later stayed with England. Similarly, much of the territory of the United States was "stolen" from Mexico and therefore colonized mainly by Spain. In addition, it is important to note that immigrants from several other European nations and places as far away as India and China were brought to work in these places, as well as African slaves, generating a population very rich in terms of ethnic diversity.
