in reflex action message is transmitted to spinal cord not to the brain and so it is done very fast to avoid harm to the body reflex action is controlled by the brain

example: if you keep your hand on hot pan you will suddenly take your hand from pan that mechanism of quick transmission of message and giving quick decission is called reflex action

quick  and involuntary response to any change in the surrounding which is controlled by spinal cord is called reflex action. example: when we suddenly touch hot cup of tea we quickly remove our hand,this removal of hand is called reflex action.
