  1. transportation of water and minerals in plants takes place through the specialized tissue called xylem and phloem.
  2. the cells present present in the roots actively take up water ions .
  3. this creates the continous water conducting path
  4. similarly plants take most of the minerals from soil.
  5. these minerals are then transported to different parts of the plant body

The Plants transport water and mineral from the roots to every part of the plan t with the help of Xylem.

Explanation:

  • Root hair which is directly in contact with the film of water present in-between the soil particles, absorbs the water that contains dissolved minerals from the soil. This then passes from cell to cell through the process of osmosis and reaches root xylem.
  • The xylem vessel of the stem of a plant are connected to the xylem vessels of the root. The water enters from root xylem vessel to the stem xylem vessel and through the process of osmosis water reaches into the leaves of the plant. The plant then utilize this water and mineral for photosynthesis and the rest of the water is used up as water vapor.
