Merits of the Green Revolution are :
1. It helps in increasing the production for the benefit of the farmers.
2. In compared to the traditional seeds the HYD seeds which were introduced by the Green Revolution produced more amount of grains in a single plant.
Demerits of Green revolution are :
1. Poor farmers could not afford the HIV seeds which were introduced by the green revolution in India.
2. With the introduction of Green Revolution new machineries were also introduced which took the place of the manual labour were employed in the works of fields or agriculture.
3. HIV seeds needs more water which led to the scarcity in many regions and it also requires many fertilizers which also led to the growth of diseases.
