Cross pollination is the process where male and female gametes or sex cells of different individual of similar species fuse together.
There are different methods of cross pollination adapted by various plants. In lower plants like mosses, the male cells swim across to through film of moisture to female part of another individual.
In upper plants cross pollination occurs when pollen grains from male part is transferred to female part.
Wind, water, insects like bees etc. and animals are some methods used to encourage cross pollination.
