amoeba take food using temporary figure like extension of cell surface which fuse over the food particle forming a food vacoule .Inside the food vacoule ,complex substance are broken down into simpler one which diffuse into cytoplasm .the remaining undigested material is moved out the surface of cell and thrown out.
