In the poem "Snake," Lawrence utilizes a theme of nature and contrasts the world of nature and creatures such as the snakewith the human world of man. He contrasts the basic nature of the snake to simply "be," acting only with instincts to the actions of man that are so conflicted by conscious thought and emotion.

the moral of the poem'snake' by DH Lawrence says that the balance between nature and man should be kept at optimum.Human activities incessantly kill the animals and don't even realise their deeds.Lawrence,in his poem,criticises the formal education that he received at schools and universities, which taught him to kill an innocent creature.Also,he criticises the society,for establishing norms like the killing of a snake to prove his strength and his being a man.
