The fertility of soil is restored naturally by adopting the following methods:

• Fallowing: In this method, land is left uncultivated (fallow) for one or more seasons. The fallow land regains the nutrients by decomposition of remains of plants and animals by the action of microbes.
• Crop Rotation: Crop Rotationis the method of growing different crops alternatly on the same field. For Ex. The farmers grow crops like wheat or barley in the first year.
