1. Resource planning in India is necessary as in such a country like India there is a enormous diversity in the availability of resources.

2.There are regions which have richness in certain types of resources. Some regions are self-sufficient and Some are having shortage in availability of resourses.

3. The states of Jharkand,Chattisgard and Madhya Pradesh are rich in the mineral resources and coal deposits.

4. Arunachal Pradesh has abundance in water resources but lacks in infrastructural development.

5. Similarly, In Rajasthan, there are well endowed with solar abd wind energy but

lack water resources even the cold desert of ladakh has very rich cultural heritage but it is deficient in water, infrastructure and vital resources
