\underline\text{Leaf\:\:is\:\:thin,\:\:flat\:\:and\:\:green\:\:lateral\:\:structure\:\:that\:\:has\:\:following\:\:parts:-}

\:\sf\underline\orange{Leaf\:base}\: :- leaf comes out from stem or branc from the point on stem or branch from where leaf grows is called leaf - base.

\:\sf\underline\green{Petiole\:and\:lamina}\: :- petiole is commonly called leaf stalk and lamina is commonly called the leaf blade, the green flattened and broad part of leaf is called Lamina.

There runs a main vien in the centre of the lamina it is called the "midrib" from midrib a large number of veins are formed . The design formed by viens is called leaf venation which is of two types :-

\:\sf\underline\blue{Reticulate\:venation}\: In this type of venation midrib runs from the base of the leaf to apex and veins from a network on both the sides of midrib.

Venation is reticulate in the following leaves :-

  • mango
  • people
  • banyan
  • guava
  • neem
  • tulsi
  • rose
  • pulses and
  • coriander

Venation is parallel in following Leaves :-

  • wheat
  • sugarcane
  • barley and
