Explain the phenomenon of biological magnification . How does it effect organism belonging to different trophic level particularly the tertiary consumer

Biological magnification is the increase in the concentration of toxic substances in different trophic levels in a food chain.

As these toxic substances are present in pesticides , these are sprinkled on crops which are eaten by us and accumulation of these occurs at higher rates especially in tertiary consumers as they eats lower organisms.
