Shock waves are created when there is an excessive changes in pressure.

These changes in pressure are produced by various explosions or lightnings.

There is a huge change seen in  density and temperature.

The most important fact is shock waves travels faster than sound.

It carries a lot of energy and it can go through solid liquid and gas.The characteristics of the medium often changes.
