There are totally three phases in teaching as per the classification of Philip. W. Jackson

Stage 1:

The first phase is known as the Pre-Active stage which includes fixing goals and content and making decisions about strategies.

Stage 2:

The second phase is known as the Inter-Active Stage which includes diagnosing the learners on their actions and reactions.

Stage 3:

The third phase is known as the Post-Active stage which includes usage of appropriate testing devices and getting feedback.
