Explain the policies followed by the french in Vietnam

French had a failing policy in vietnam..many students enroll in schools but in final year more than three-fourth were failed because of this policy of failing students. This is done to ensure very few vietnamese were able to get white color jobs....because most of the post in these services were assured by french citizens living in vietnam(colons)..

1.  The French made Vietnam a colony and exploited its resources to feed her industries.

2.  The France imposed western-style administration in Vietnam.

3.  Vietnam was made the source of raw material and market for protected-tariff goods of France.

4.  French transferred the new uncultivated land to local collaborators which created the landlord class in Vietnam.

5.  The French had kept a close watch over China through Vietnam.

6.  The French and their collaborators (money lenders) exploited the peasants as maximum share of produce was taken by government and moneylenders.

7.  The French controlled the education in Vietnam and introduced such a syllabus in schools which glorified the French and justified their rule.

8.  Forced Labor was introduced in public works.
