Solution:

Bohr's model of the atom:

Neils Bohr , gave the present concept of the structure of atom .

The Postulates of Bohr's model of the atom are:

1.
An atom is made up of three particles electrons, protons & neutrons.

An atom on the whole is electrically neutral.

Electron have negative charge (-) protons have positive charge (+) and neutrons have no charge they are neutral.

2.
The protons and neutrons are located in a small nucleus at the centre of the atom. Nucleus is positively charged due to the presence of protons.

3.
The electrons revolve rapidly around the nucleus in a fixed circular path called energy levels or shells.

The energy Levels or shells are represented by K,L,M,N,.... or 1,2,3,4,.....

The energy levels are counted from the centre outwards.

4.
There is a limit to the number of electrons which each energy level or shells can hold.

K shell can hold maximum of 2 electrons, L shell can hold maximum of 8 electrons, M shell can hold maximum of 18 electrons, N shell can hold maximum of 32 electrons

5.
Each energy level is associated with the fixed amount of energy.

The shell nearest to the nucleus having minimum energy and the shell farthest from the nucleus having the maximum energy.

6.
There is no change in the energy of electrons as long as they keep revolving in the same energy level ,and the atom remain stable.

When An electron gains energy it jumps  from lower energy level to a higher energy level and when an electron comes down from high energy level to lower  energy level it loses  energy.

Answer:

1️⃣ It states thatthe electrons move around nucleus in well defined paths called orbits or energy levels .

2️⃣ These orbits have a definite energy , and electrons in that orbit do not lose energy while revolving . Thus the orbits are called stationary states .

3️⃣ The electron only gains energy when it moves from lower energy level to higher one . It loses energy when it jumps from higher energy level to lower one.

4️⃣The frequency of radiation emitted or absorbed in any transition is given by the formula .

5️⃣The angular momentum of the electron revolving around the nucleus is an integral multiple of d

. This means it is quantized and is given as the formula .
