Electric generators work on the principle of electromagnetic induction. A conductor coil (a copper coil tightly wound onto a metal core) is rotated rapidly between the poles of a horseshoe type magnet. .The magnetic field will interfere with the electrons in the conductor to induce a flow of electric current inside it.

The working of electric generator is based on electromagnetic induction. There are two poles inside the electric generators. With the help of electromagnetic induction, The generator converts the mechanical energy to the electric energy.

The two ends of electric generator are connected with two different semi-circular rings. There is also a brush inside the electric generators to which, this circular rings are connected with.

Working:

When the loop is rotated, in the magnetic field, then it's one side moves upward and one side moves to the downward direction.   Due to which, the magnetic flux that is connected with the two loops changes and current is inducted and hence  this is how, the current is  produced in the  electric generator.

Components of Generator:

  • Alternator
  • Fuel system
  • Engine
  • Control Panel
  • Lubrication system
  • Battery Charger
  • Voltage regulator
