Biomass refers to those living and non-living organic materials that can be used as sources of energy in the form of fuel. Some examples of biomass fuels are biogas, wood, crops, and organic garbage.
Biogas systems make use of a relatively simple, well-known, and mature technology. The main part of a biogas system is a large tank, or digester. Inside this tank, bacteria convert organic waste into methane gas through the process of anaerobic digestion.
Biogas Generation Reduces Soil and Water Pollution. Biogas reduces landfill waste, augmenting the environment, hygiene, and sanitation.
