The process is called evaporation. The reverse process (change in phase from gas to liquid) is called condensing. Sublimation is the process of going from a solid to a gas. The kinetic theory of matter attempts to explain the behaviour of matter in different phases.

Answer:

The molecules of sublimates i.e,iodine dry ice etc held together by a week force of attraction so, after absorbing required heat ,the kinetic energy increases. this in the conversion of solid to liquids as the molecules over comes their attractive bond and become free.
