Petroleum (also known as crude oil or simply oil) is a fossil fuel that wasformed from the remains of ancient marine organisms. Millions of years ago, algae and plants lived in shallow seas. After dying and sinking to the seafloor, the organic material mixed with other sediments and was buried.

Process of formation of petroleum:

  • The petroleum is one of the type of fossil fuel, this is formed and it is a non-renewable resources.
  • Petroleum is formed by the remains of large dead organisms. This is obtained by the oil drilling adventure.
  • Due to the change in the temperature and the pressure on the fossil fuels which is the remains of the dead organisms, causing the molten matter on solidification thereby the petroleum can be drilled from the silt of rock which is formed.
