The broody hen will lay eggs about 12 - 20 and than stop laying eggs anymore and will sit on them day and night to warm them up. The heat she provides with her body will help the eggs to hatch and when the chicks are prepared in egg and egg is about to get hatched she will pick the eggs and help them get out of it.
