photosynthesis:- The process by which green plants make their own food (like glucose) from carbon dioxide and water by using sunlight energy in the presence of chlorophyll, is called photosynthesis.

The word 'PHOTO' means 'light' and 'synthesis' means 'to build', thus 'photosynthesis' means 'building up by light'. The process of photosynthesis takes place in the green leaves of a plant. This process represented as:-

6CO2+6H2O+Light energy ---------- Chlorophyll------------- C6H12O6+6O2.

WHERE CO2 IS Carbon dioxide.

And H2O is Water,

C6H12O6 is Glucose,

O2 is Oxygen.

Hope it helps!
