Explanation:

In India, South-west winds bring in Monsoon season which lasts from June to September. During September, winds from North-east direction start gaining strength and tries to push out South-west monsoon wind. Due to this, it creates thunder storms while monsoon is about to withdraw which is called retreating monsoon.

Advancing Monsoon: South West Monsoon winds blow over the warm oceans and thus bear moisture bringing abundant rainfall in India. The monsoon covers the entire country in about a month's time. The arrival of the Monsoon winds brings a change in the weather of the country.
