Explanation:

Nerve impulse is transmitted through a gap called synaptic cleft. The impulses are transmitted across the cleft by changing the action potential into a chemical signal. The neurotransmitters usually diffuse across the synaptic cleft and bind to receptor molecules; the action triggers the second cell that starts a new action potential.

An increase in action potential of the neurotransmitter causes enclosed chemical sodium channels in the post-synaptic neuron membrane to open. Hence, allowing sodium to diffuse into the post-synaptic neuron. The increased sodium ions concentration in the post-synaptic neuron depolarize the neuron’s membrane. When the action potential is initiated in the post-synaptic neuron and the impulse are transmitted from one neuron to another .

A nervous impulse is passed over the synapse from a pre-synaptic neuron to a post-synaptic neuron over the use of neurotransmitter diffusion.

Explanation:

  • The neuro transmitters usually diffuse through the synaptic cleft and bind to a receptor molecule.
  • The action triggers the second cell that starts an action potential.
  • An increase in the action potential of the neurotransmitter causes enclosed chemical sodium channels in the postsynaptic neuron membrane to open.
  • Hence permitting sodium to scattered into the synaptic neuron.
