Shearing is the first step in processing fibre into wool. It is the removal of the fleece of the sheep along with a thin layer of the skin. The longer fibres are made into wool for sweaters, while the shorter fibres are spun and woven into woollen cloth.
Wool is Natural-Animal Fibre Obtained from Sheeps , goats etc.
STEPS INVOLVE IN MANUFACTURING OF WOOL
1. SHEARING
The process in which Hairs are removed from the body of sheeps is called shearing. It doesnot hurt sheep because it only involves removal of outer hair which is removed mannualy or by modern machinery.
2. SCOURING
It is a process involving cleaning and removing dirts from the hairs of sheep is called Scouring. The hairs are put in large tub filled with water so that It can be easily cleaned followed by removal of sweat,dirt,grease etc.
3.SORTING
It is a process in which the wool fibres are sorted into different classification which is required for manufacturing of different products. Long, short, Thin, thick etc. are basis of its classification.
Sorter's job can be proved risky because while sorting the bacteria, Antherax causes a blood bornie disease .
4. DYING and COMBING
The sorted wool are combed properly to make fine and proper fibres.
The wool fibres are coloured with different colours accordingly. It was done mannualy but it is now done by electronic printers .
5. WEAVING
After all this the Fibres are weaved into yarn by Hand-loom or modern machines and finally it is used to make woolen fabrics like - woolen sweaters, Bags etc.
