explain the reasons for the boycott movement and swadeshi movement?

The concept of 'Swadeshi' and 'Boycott' got a new impetus from the anti- partition movement. Swadeshi literally means "one's own country" . It aimed at the promotion of indigenous industries for strengthening the nation.
Boycott movement meant " abstaining from the purchase of British goods." Gradually it became more comprehensive and a four- fold program of boycott was advocated.
