Explain the reasons which led to the 1905 revolution in Russia.

1. Russia's defeat in the Russo-Japanese war  of 1905 due to the poorly organised Russian army.
2. the prices of essential commodity rose,so that real wages declined by 20%
3. workers were dismissed at the putilov iron workers.
4. the revolutionaries demanded reduction in daily working hours to 8 , increase in wages and improvement in working conditions.
